Description

KSL1100XST is a compact hybrid furnace that offers a 4"x4"x4" heating chamber with a 2" hole on the top with a programmable temperature controller. It is an ideal furnace for preparing small samples up to 1000 o C either under a vacuum or a controlled atmosphere with maximum energy saving (500 - 700W only). In addition, this compact furnace can be placed into a glove box to sinter samples.

SPECIFICATIONS: 

Furnace Construction
  • High-purity fibrous alumina insulation for maximum energy saving - 30% less power consumption than other brands
  • Drop-down door for easy sample loading.

Hybrid Furnace
  • Muffle Furnace:
    • A thermal block is included for using this furnace as a muffle furnace.
  • Tube Furnace:
    • The 2" port on top of the furnace allows the furnace to work as a tube furnace for high vacuum applications.
    • Compatible with tubes with lengths ranging from 215 to 265mm.

Sintered Mullite Plate
  • One sintered Mullite plate is included for placing the sample in the chamber.

  • 110V version: 950 W (Power Plug is included)
  • 220V version: 1.2 KW (Power Plug is not included)

Optional
  • Two 8 mm diameter barbed fittings can be installed as gas inlet and outlet on the back of the furnace panel, which is available at extra cost ($99 for both connectors), please see the picture on the left.
  • Note: Self-installation is required. The open barb holes and threaded holes will be ready.

Application Notes
  • With the smallfootprint, low weight, and low power requirement can be easily accommodated in a glove box and threat samples under protective gases. Please click pic.1~3 to see more details.
  • For high vacuum application ( <1e-5 torr), please choose a quartz tube with CF flange as in picture 3

Warnings
  • Toxic or explosive gases are not recommended for use with this furnace without necessary safety controls and supervision. Please put the furnace into the fume hood for better safety (Click Pic.1)
  • Small cracks may appear on the surface of the refractory ceramics over extended use. This is a normal occurrence and the cracks may be repaired with alumina coating.
