Description

SP-MSM200 is a compact arc melting furnace with a water-cooled copper hearth to melt metallic samples up to 200g (Fe as ref.). A built-in mechanical manipulator is included for tilting and rotating metal ingots for the re-melting process. This furnace also can be used for hydrogen plasma arc melting ( please see option note at the bottom of the page )
Note: Upgrade Max current to 250A, since July 15, 2023

Features
  • Designed for melting single samples of 200g (Fe alloy) up to 3500 °C under Ar gas.
  • Water-cooled vacuum chamber, electrode, and copper hearth with one larger cavity (round or rectangular) and several small cavities.
  • Powerful arc melting power supply (8 KW) enables reliable, stable arc ignition
  • Easy electrode tilting and height adjustment via a handwheel
  • A built-in mechanical wobble stick for tilting and rotating samples without breaking the vacuum
  • A tinted observation window on the front for monitoring the melting process

Tungsten Electrode

  • 6 mm Dia. tungsten electrode with water cooling
  • Easy electrode tilting and height adjustment (30 mm max) for multiple-cavity melting
  • Capable of melting samples < 200 g iron-based alloy in each cavity up to 3500 °C.
Copper Crucible
  • Water-cooled copper crucible plate with one large capacity with several small cavities (Pic. 1-2).
  • Round cavity: 70 mm diameter x 15 mm Depth (Included)
  • Rectangular cavity: 100 mm L x 40mm W x 15 mm Depth (optional at extra cost)
  • Three 25mm dia. × 12.5 mm Deep small cavities are used for Ti melting to reduce the trace oxygen inside the chamber before processing, or small samples for < 20 g
  • In order to melt the alloy uniformly, double-side melting is required
  • Optional:  Crucile with vacuum casting is available upon request. ( Pic. 4)
